Pro-Bet Movement: Uniting for a More Transparent Future of iGaming in Brazil

As Brazil’s iGaming industry experiences rapid growth, it is also facing a wave of misinformation that threatens its public perception. In response, a new initiative is about to take shape. The Pró-Bet Movement invites professionals, companies, and supporters of the industry to an open conversation about the future of the sector. The first step will be taken on August 8 at 5:00 PM (BRT) with a virtual meeting that aims to be the starting point for collective and conscious change.

This is not about offering ready-made solutions. The goal is to create a space for collaboration, dialogue, and a shared commitment to truth and responsibility — to strengthen the sector's credibility through united action.

A booming market still seeking recognition

In 2023, the Brazilian iGaming market generated around USD 3.4 billion (approximately BRL 18–19 billion) — surpassing the combined revenue of the film and music industries. This performance places Brazil among the world’s top ten iGaming markets, with even greater potential ahead as regulation progresses.

Beyond its economic impact, the sector has contributed significantly to job creation and technological development in the country. Between January and April 2024, hiring in the sector grew by 37% compared to the same period in 2023. Official projections estimate BRL 12 billion in annual tax revenue, and over 100 companies have already applied for licenses to operate in Brazil.

Despite these advances, the industry continues to face stigma, misinformation, and a lack of reliable sources. This reality highlights the urgent need to build a narrative that reflects the sector's true value and potential.

The online event will mark the launch of a collective movement for a more transparent, ethical, and well-understood industry. It will be a moment to listen, propose, and reflect on the impact of misinformation — and to explore how the sector can better position itself in relation to the public, the media, and regulators.
